Middle Easten patterns are featuring heavily in spring 2013 fashion, and with so many whacky anime and cartoon prints as well as tattoo art stemming from Asian fashion, people, culture, building and art. 

It's surprising that the rest of the fashion world didn't cotton on to the 'asian print' trend sooner. 

We're looking forward to our buying and designing trips this year, discovering new trends, outfits ,prints and patterns. 

An asian inspired print that springs to mind is the "Arigato Mr Roboto " basic white with layered print tee. 

Please excuse the model : She's not very smiley :( 

'Arigato' meaning hello in Japanese ( We Think ;) and then a robot anime sketch. With bright lights just like the streets and skylines in Japan and China. 

Next up isn't an asian print but the design was inspired by culture and ancient traditions; Greek Gods.

Incorporating skulls into the ancient greek god's head dress giving it that alternative look and feel. On the left we have the guys baggy version and on the right is the 'Headhunter'  3/4 boat neck crew top. 

Tonight We Die (No it's not to do with the Mayans)

If there is one print that captures our alternative styling imagination it's the 'Tonight We Die' T-Shirt from Iron Fist. We've had In both guys and girls styles, the guy's is baggy and a basic high scoop neck and  box body like fit and the girls is a boyfriend buttoned short sleeve, dark tone top.

 



With Grunge playing a massive part in  underworld styling this year more and more girls have been choosing the guys version as it's baggy and more versatile for styling. Here's an Idea. Tonight we die Top+ Shorts and thick black tights or tutu and either underground T.U.K creepers (Go high or go home) 5cm thickness and a bold Iron Fist or Irregular Choice bag.

 For us it is a reminder of where we started. 'Tonight We Die" was one of our first prints selected for our fist season for 31B Store, and boy oh boy are we pleased we bought plenty to keep up going, It's one of our most asked for items closely followed by the Polka Dot "Society Suicide" blazer. It's a timeless tee classic. The print attracts attention yet is in no way mainstream or 'Boring'.   Details: On the women's wrist the bangles have little smiley faces.

Bjorn Borg Sexy Lingerie Survey.

A Bjorn Borg survey has revealed international attitudes to sexy lingerie. 

The study by Xtreme Nordic interviewed 1,713 people aged 18- 30 in Sweden, England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Holland and China.

The results show that while Swedish and German women prefer their underwear plain and simple, Spanish women want their lingerie to be ‘flirty and naughty’.

On a first date 95% of French women wear sexy underwear, as do more than 70 percent of brits wear sexy underwear on a date.

The results also show that the concept of sexy underwear changes from males to females - women consider romantic lingerie sexy, while men think ‘naughty and flirty’ underwear is the sexiest!

How to save your soles. 

I've recently been having  some troubles with my feet , walking to and from the post office, to college and then running to  catch the train is really taking its toll.

It was only when reviewing the summer 13 collection that i realised how much cheap, flimsy import shoes are available both on our high streets and online today. 

I've always been a stickler  for good and expensive shoes, which i realise now will pay off in time and will really save my soles in the long run. 

Granny shoes - you know the ones big velcro and hideously unattractive. When shopping with my grandmother last week, it dawned on my that if people keep wearing things with no support, no soles and just generally poorly made products we're all going to be 40 years old in velcro granny shoes way before our time, 

We've all been there ooo look they're only a fiver or what sit on the telly was wearing those. It's about time the shoe and fashion industry bucked up their ideas and made thick sole , supportive shoes fashionable and 'In'

Luckily creepers are on trend. Love them or hate them they are the hangover cure for sore feet. Someone tweeted this morning that they 'hated' creepers and it was fair to say that i strongly disagreed with them. Creepers are the most fashionable supportive thing since the creation of docs. When i mention docs , creepers or builders boots i'm referring to the real deal, the real thing, the reel shanaz. Not some super cheap made of plastic jobby. You get what you pay for with branded shoes. 

Our mate steve from T.U.K must be sick and tired of receiving my calls to order more upon more pairs of creepers. It's contagious and i commend anyone who is not bucking the trend of creepers and subconsciously supporting their soles, another plus point of creepers is they were around in the 80's they're going to be in until 2015 , so not only will you be on trend for a while to come, they will always come back around and back into fashion. It's as if every time vogue gets sore feet from far too high heels they decide " Let's make creepers fashionable again."  a real investment that comes round and round again in the fashion world. 

I'm not saying heels are bad, as i'd be the biggest hippocryte out there if i said that and then you looked at my wardrobe. But there are a few little adjustments you can make to make sure you get the longevity from your footwear that you want and need.

1. 1. Waterproof or protect coat them. Stop the stains one things like LYDC L25 heels. 
2. 2. Replace the heel bottoms when they're looking tatty or have been worn out. 
3. 3. Buy a pair of tipsy feet.

The only time i will ever recommend flimsy shoes are the tipsy feet as as the title suggests they're for when you're in heels and you feel a little tipsy. It's the safe and right answer to getting home safely from a night out. 

It sounds crazy and some say unlikely yet i say like Bieber - Never Say Never 

And here we go :

Scenario one - if you're out on the town , have had a good time, have had a little bit the drink and then proceed to walk home and think that you're being followed and need to run to safety can you really run, tipsy, in high heels to safety before the person following you gets to you?

Scenario two- you once again have been out having some fun  with  girlfriends you're all a little excited and happy ( probably from the christmas mulled wine) and one of the girls makes a joke: you all laugh yet you're not laughing at the end of the night when your ankle bone is popping out of your foot and are just about to go in and have surgery after one of the girls laughed too hard -threw arms in the air and knocked you of the pavement. Your ankle twists splits and you fall. 

A tenner for shoes in a small pouch you can pop in your bag for your journey home is a small price to pay as appose to the scenarios above. And the pouch ever rolls out to create a bag for you to put your heels in- neat huh?

and those have to be my saving sole tips for perfect feet and comfy clean looking shoes! I hope you found this helpful as after all i don’t either want to be wearing granny shoes at 40 or have unattractive crippled feet. 

The creepers i’ve been wearing are the T.U.K A low sole mondo black suede creepers. Which are protective and indestructible a small , plumpy child stood on my foot in a coffee shop last week and I was indeed caught completely unaware when his mother shrieked 

“ Samuel get off that poor girls feet. “

It made be smile, yet Samuel didn’t seem all that impressed.

So the time has come to either rate or slate Iron Fist’s new design direction , since Iron Fist’s birth it has been through three key phases. It started off as alternative grunge - a new thing to international fashion as no one had seen anything fashion revolution wise since the fashion rebellion of the 80’s : Then over the past 4 seasons Iron Fist had still focused on its alternative and dark designs and working with tattoo artists and graffiti artists in order to get the most out there designs as possible as well as starting to phase in and ‘test the water’ with some lighter some what ‘fluffier’ girly designs. 

Such as the cuts of the sun dresses girly with slip fit shoulder straps yet with a dark alternative style skull print with bone detailing and darker graphics on lighter tops and in lighter less aggressive, less repelling colours to the girl next door. 

And now it appears that it is an end of an era with the birth of the American party girl collection of Havanna affair and girly glamour, So what we want to know is are the original IF fans all grown up , grown out of the dark hole collection of Bev Hogan and skulls and cross bones or a true to its work ‘Rock Of Ages’ t shirt? Have you grown into a fairy princess that wants Havanna affair or do you still want to scare the girl next door with goolish prints and garish patterns that bring your attitude and lifestyle to the forefront of your fashion. 

We want to know- why? Because you’re our customer if you want something we’ll get it - if you don’t what’s the point? and we’ll need to look at getting you exactly what you want.

MTV Boom Box

MTV has boomed from it’s boom box onto the fashion scenes this season.  Bright colours , tanks tees and jumpers.

    

 We bucked the trend a while back , sold out; but they’re now back and bigger than ever for more. As we’re launching the new site very soon you’ll be able to see the hype they’re getting. We’re calling them “Base Rate Brands” a well known brand with just a tiny price tag.
